Look at Billy reading “We’re now going to become historians where we will learn more about the past (and how it has shaped how we live today)”. Retrieval prSmall dogrs will use the progression document to inform their planning of retrieval tasks. Tasks could help to set the scene for the new learning about to take place.

  • The lesson’s new learning is introduced through the learning question and success criteria (this can be gone through verbally or written down) and teachers will link the lesson’s learning to the overarching enquiry question.
  • Historical terms – a maximum of 5 key words (vocabulary) the children will hear their teacher use (that they are also expected to use) are explained.
