About the School

Nerrols Primary is a new school and nursery, built in beautiful countryside on the edge of Taunton, near Cheddon Fitzpaine.

We are part of the Richard Huish Trust, which sponsors a number of schools in the Taunton area and is linked to Richard Huish Sixth Form College – rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Nerrols Primary School will start small, with a class of 30 reception age children, plus a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class with approximately 30 children. There will also be a 28 place nursery on site, open for 48 weeks a year with spaces for up to eight two-year-olds, plus 20 three and four-year-olds. Nerrols Primary School will eventually grow to a two form entry primary school, with 420 pupils aged 4 – 11.

In addition, the school will have the following:

  • A library
  • Group working rooms
  • A technology room
  • Large main hall
  • Production kitchen
  • Food technology room
  • Office and meeting space
  • Playground
  • Forest school area
  • 3G (all weather) sports pitch
  • Wraparound care

Technology will form a large part of the teaching and learning experience, with every classroom having a touchscreen display and tablets for children to use to improve their learning and outcomes.

The school has been specifically designed for wider community use, both during and outside the school day. We welcome local residents and groups and look forward to becoming a focal point for community activities.
