About the School

Nerrols Primary is a new school and nursery, built in beautiful countryside on the edge of Taunton, near Cheddon Fitzpaine.

We are part of the Richard Huish Trust, which sponsors a number of schools in the Taunton area and is linked to Richard Huish Sixth Form College – rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Nerrols Primary School will start small, with a class of 30 Reception age children plus a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class with approximately 15 children. There will also be a 28-place Nursery on-site, open for 49 weeks a year, with spaces for up to eight 2 year olds, twenty-three, and four year olds. Nerrols will eventually grow to a two-form entry primary school, with 420 pupils.

In addition, the School will have the following:

  • A library
  • Group working rooms
  • A technology room
  • Large main hall
  • Production kitchen
  • Food technology room
  • Office and meeting space
  • Playground
  • Forest School area
  • 3G (all weather) sports pitch
  • “Wraparound” care

Technology will form a large part of the teaching and learning experience, with every classroom having a touchscreen display and tablets for children to use to improve their learning and outcomes.

The School has been specifically designed for wider community use, both during and outside the school day. We welcome local residents and groups, and look forward to becoming a focal point for community activities.
